2010 Race to 40K

During the past few months the staff at La Alianza Hispana have been busy preparing for the launch of the "Race to 40K" event.  Since last year, we have made quite a few technological and strategic changes to our campaign which will promote more engagement and interaction.

In addition to supporting an organization with a 40 year track record of providing workforce, education, and public health programming to Boston's Latino Community, La Alianza Hispana's Race to 40K will harness the increased visibility of blogs, websites, Facebook, Twitter, and all other major outlets of "user generated content" (social media) sites.  This is a rather new and unique approach to fundraising, as traditional methods have often been restricted by various methods of communication and outreach.

The Race to 40K is a highly visible virtual campaign driven by enthusiasm and hard work.  Last year’s Race to 40K raised over 33K. These funds helped to save our afterschool program which had lost most of its funding due to state cutbacks.  We were able to leverage the extra time and dollars to find additional funders, and we are proud that the program is still operational.

As we implement our 2nd annual Race to 40K this September, our staffs are welcoming kids back to the program.  Because of your support, over 40 English language learners will continue to receive educational enrichment that leads to academic success.

Don’t miss our upcoming celebrity videos every week!!! You could be one of them!
