Position:  Nurse – RN

Part Time Position ( PT)

Dept:       Elder Department

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provision of nursing services and treatments to participants;
  2. Supervision of the care and services provided to participants by Program Aides, volunteers, and other personnel, as applicable;
  3. Participating in the completion of participants’ comprehensive assessments and plans of care;
  4. Writing nursing notes at least one time per month or more often as necessary to address significant changes and health care teaching in each participant’s health record;
  5. Responding appropriately to any acute changes in a participant’s health or functioning;
  6. Providing appropriate health care education for each participant and legally authorized representative;
  7. Obtaining, reviewing, and implementing primary care provider orders; and
  8. coordinating the participant’s care with the primary care provider and, if applicable, community service providers.
  9. Maintain Participants’ records update and organize
  10. Assisting as necessary in the delivery of other Services
  11. Supervision of ADL’s given to Participants by Program Aides
  12. Other duties given by your supervisor

Competencies Required:

 

  • Licensed with the state of Massachusetts required
  • A plus Bilingual (Spanish and English, bicultural or have knowledge about the cultural values and special needs of the Latin American and Caribbean population living in the greater Boston area).
  • Great interpersonal skills with emphasis on both verbal and written abilities to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work within a team approach environment and self-motivated to work independently.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist and work with staff and volunteers in other areas in order to ensure quality of service and accomplish overall goals/objectives.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher.
  • Organized, detail oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and implement work.
